In a surprising turn of events, San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama has shared his account of an incident involving pop star Britney Spears at a Las Vegas casino. Wembanyama revealed that he was grabbed from behind by an individual later identified as Spears while entering a restaurant, and it was his security detail that intervened and pushed her away.

According to TMZ, which first reported the alleged details of the incident, Spears filed a police report claiming that she was struck by a security guard while attempting to get Wembanyama’s attention. The incident occurred near a restaurant at the ARIA hotel and casino on Wednesday night.

In response to the incident, Spears took to her Instagram story on Thursday to address the situation, expressing that it was “super embarrassing to share with the world but its out there already.” She refuted Wembanyama’s version of events, stating that she had simply tapped him on the shoulder, and it was his security who “backhanded” her in the face without looking back, causing her glasses to come off.

Spears expressed her disappointment in not receiving a public apology from Wembanyama, his security team, or the organization he represents. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that they responded to a “battery investigation” without providing specific names or issuing any arrests or citations.

Wembanyama recounted the incident, revealing that his security had advised him not to stop for anyone while walking into the restaurant to avoid drawing attention and gathering a crowd. He stated that someone called out to him, but he continued walking, unaware of what was happening behind him. It was his security team that intervened and pushed the person away, though he did not witness the force used.

The rookie player admitted that he only learned about the incident making headlines hours later when he returned to the hotel and was informed by the Spurs’ security team that it was Britney Spears involved. He clarified that he never saw her face and continued walking straight without stopping.
